School Supply Drive to Help Children in Knox County

August 14, 2012

Rockland, ME -In a struggling economy many families are challenged to meet their basic needs for food and shelter. Getting children ready for a new school year creates additional financial pressure. For over nine years Penquis has joined efforts with businesses, media and community partners to provide backpacks and school supplies to over 1,000 children each year.

One parent stated, "It is hard to send your kids back to school without a backpack or supplies because you needed the money to put food on the table.”

This year Automaster Collision Center is helping to support the cause. In celebration of their 20th Birthday, Automaster is collecting donations for the Penquis Tools for School program. On Saturday, August 25th, starting at 11:00 am they will celebrate their birthday with activities, fun and treats for the whole family.  Individuals that would like to support a great cause can stop by Automaster Collision Center, located at 15 Dennison Rd., Spruce Head and wish Automaster Collision Center a happy birthday.

All donations collected at the event go to children in need of a backpack and school supplies. Individuals or businesses that would like to give to this cause can also donate at the Penquis website www.penquis.org or drop off a donation at Penquis, 170 Pleasant St. Rockland, Maine, or attend the 20th Birthday Party at Automaster Collision Center.
