BANGOR - Katahdin Trust Company senior management joined customers and guests on Wednesday, June 13 as Katahdin Trust Company kicked off the Grand Opening celebration of its newest Bangor location at 52 Springer Drive in the Christmas Tree Shops Plaza.
At a business reception Katahdin Trust Company President and CEO Jon Prescott announced the Bankâs donation of nearly $7,500 to purchase 24 cribs for the Penquis Child Development Centers in Greater Bangor. The event was attended by bank officials along with local business leaders, city officials and Penquis executive staff members.
âAs a locally owned community bank, Katahdin Trust Company is committed to partnering with civic endeavors that enhance the quality of life we share,â Prescott said. âBeing able to partner with Penquis to provide these cribs will result in safe, quality care of infants.â
Penquis is one of Maineâs largest early childhood development providers, serving more than 680 children and their families through 40 classrooms and 19 locations in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox Counties. Additionally, the organization provides federally-funded programs for low income families with focus on the development of children to reach their highest potential, according to Penquis officials. Penquis CEO Charlie Newton stated that, âParents of children enrolled in Penquis Child Development depend on quality child care to pursue their employment and educational goals as they move toward self-sufficiency.â
âWe are grateful to Katahdin Trust Company for this generous donation,â Jean Bridges, Department Director for Penquis Child Development, noted. âNot only will the babies benefit from these new cribs but it will add a layer of comfort for parents, knowing their babies are safe and peaceful in our care.
âItâs been a great day for Katahdin Trust Company in Bangor,â stated Prescott. âWe are enjoying the opportunity to welcome new banking relationships each day and this new facility allows us to better serve our customers. At the same time, we are fulfilling our mission of service and corporate citizenship by partnering with an outstanding organization such as Penquis. Katahdin Trust Company is here not only to make a difference in the lives of our customers but to also find ways to serve our communities and work to help our friends and neighbors.â
The new office features four teller stations, seven private offices, a comfortable waiting area, two drive-up teller lanes, and a 24-hour ATM. Concurrent with this opening the Bankâs commercial loan office previously located at Stillwater Avenue in Bangor has been relocated to Springer Drive. âWe are excited about this move as we feel it will be a great enhancement of service for our current commercial customers by providing them with a full array of business and retail deposit and loan services all in one location,â stated Prescott. The retail division of the branch is managed by Danelle Weston, Regional Vice President and the Commercial Services Department is led by Brian Gardiner, Senior Vice President & Commercial Services Officer. The office was designed by North Peak Architecture and the general contractor for the project was E.W. Littlefield & Sons.
âThe Grand Opening celebration will continue until the end of June,â Prescott said, âwith daily refreshments, giveaways and a âTreasure Chestâ allowing lucky key holders the opportunity to win prizes ranging from a new iPad to $1,000 in vacation cash.â
