The Young Entrepreneur's Society

This after school program assists youth in gaining knowledge of entrepreneurship by providing hands on experience operating a small printing business. Age appropriate instruction is provided on a range of business topics, including patent/trademarks, e-commerce, marketing, negotiating, accounting, and financial management. In addition, students choose their activities for the day from the printing business, homework session, or activities that are compromised of both physical and mental challenges. Speakers, field trips, conflict resolution workshops and physical activities that build teamwork are also part of the program, though specific topics and activities depend largely upon the interests of the group. There is open enrollment with a maximum number of 15 students attending the program. The program meets two afternoons per week during the school year and two afternoons per week during a six-week summer session.

The program is offered at the Penquis office in Dover-Foxcroft and is available to students ages 13-15 from the greater Dover-Foxcroft area.  There is no cost to participate.
