Bulley Story Continued...

Being a graduate of a MaineStream Finance Incubator Without Walls (IWW) course, designed to help entrepreneurs start and expand small businesses, Jean was educated on the pros and cons of owning a business. She was able to get help from a MaineStream Finance business counselor to prepare a business plan for Bull Moose Taxi. She applied for a business loan through MaineStream Finance and was approved. “MaineStream Finance was very instrumental in helping and guiding me through the processes to a joyous outcome,” said Jean. Her taxi business is a great success and currently employs two people. During the summers, they are busy transporting vacationers and travelers from airports and hotels to the Mt. Katahdin area. To make this a year round business, they have a weekly taxi service for food deliveries to seniors and others who cannot drive or easily get out to do their shopping or errands. On weekends, they provide transportation to late-night restaurant and club patrons.

With the success of her taxi business she began to think about the possibility of being a homeowner again. Her business counselor referred her to the MaineStream Finance mortgage program. She was approved for a mortgage loan and was able to buy an affordable house that was fully furnished.

“The MaineStream Finance team is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and quick and efficient in the whole process of applying for both the mortgage and the business loan. With the help of MaineStream Finance, my dreams of owning a house and Bull Moose Taxi Service have come to fruition. I want to thank them because without them I would not have a happy home, nor a successful business which provides a needed service to the Katahdin Area.” Jean Bulley
