Penquis offers a variety of services related to home ownership through our subsidiary MaineStream Finance (NMLS #987271). MaineStream Finance, a Community Development Financial Institution, (CDFI) offers education for first-time home buyers, lending options to purchase or refinance a home, pre-foreclosure counseling, and reverse mortgages.

Home Buyer Education

This 12-hour certified training course is offered through MaineStream Finance and helps potential home buyers make prudent home purchasing decisions. Saving for a Home

Penquis Family Development Accounts (FDA) is a matching savings account.  For every dollar saved towards the purchase of home, the FDA program will match it by $4.  This program is not only for those saving for a home but also for those that would like to save money to start a new business or to continue their education.  For more information, contact Roberta Teeto at 973-3624.

Home Loans

Offers a fixed rate 30 year term first mortgage that is subject to MaineStream Finance underwriting guidelines. The fixed rate is not locked in until time of closing and is subject to change without notice up until time of closing. Home Repair Loans/Second Mortgages

Foreclosure Intervention Counseling

This program is for homeowners who are behind on their mortgage payment or concerned about not being able to make future payments.
