The Penquis 2016 Community Needs Assessment is a comprehensive assessment of the needs of residents of Knox, Penobscot, and Piscataquis counties, Maine, the region for which Penquis C.A.P., Inc. (Penquis) is the designated Community Action Agency. A comprehensive assessment is conducted every three years and contains statistical data from national, state, and local sources; Penquis service data; and input obtained from staff, community partners, clients, and other stakeholders via surveys, focus groups, key informant interviews, and other community dialogues conducted by Penquis and others to identify community needs and inform the strategic planning process.
The 2016 Municipal Services Summary Reports provide an overview of the amount and value of services provided by Penquis throughout its service area and by county. Detailed reports by town within each county are posted for Knox, Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.
The latest Annual Report features highlights from our 2015 fiscal year, including a letter from the Chair of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer, an overview of services, and a snap shot of our annual budget. The Poverty in Maine Update has been prepared by the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine for the Maine Community Action Association. We are pleased to present this Update which makes available county-level poverty data recently released by the U.S. Census. Several trends become immediately apparent from a review of the data.
