Lead Facilities Worker

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for nearly 50 years, is seeking to fill the above position based at its Harlow Street office in Bangor.

This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) reporting to the Facilities and Grounds Director. Working at Penquis owned and leased facilities throughout the region, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing necessary carpentry and in-house maintenance and plumbing repairs; providing basic ground maintenance at child care centers including grass mowing, raking, pruning of shrubs, removal of snow and general up keep; moving equipment and furniture, and performing cleaning duties as needed. This position reviews work orders, develops work plans and assembles materials needed to complete jobs, oversees the efforts of assigned staff to insure tasks are done properly and in a safe manner, and insures tools and materials are accounted for and properly stored. Successful candidate must be able to lift seventy (70) pounds. Must have a clean driver’s license and facilities/maintenance experience. As required by business necessity, upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have clean background checks through the State Bureau of Investigation, Maine Department of Human Services, and the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website. Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; basic reading and writing skills; computer literacy. Must be willing to work a varied schedule including occasional evenings and weekends. Position pay range starts at $11.33 per hour.
