Administrative Assistant

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox counties for 50 years, is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/wk; benefits eligible) Administrative Assistant at its Bangor location. This position within the Corporate Services Department will provide clerical, administrative, and office support in a computer networked setting. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in multitasking, have excellent written and verbal communication skills including recording and composing meeting minutes, be versatile in Microsoft Office products and spreadsheets, have thorough knowledge of personal computers, work well in a team environment and serve as a representative of Penquis within the Community while coordinating and hosting events. This challenging position offers an opportunity for variety and growth for a person with maturity, leadership abilities, and good problem solving skills.

Required qualifications include two years post secondary training in office practices and technology, business, secretarial or other relevant area, or 4 years experience in a related office setting that includes word processing, spreadsheet and database management. Also requires excellent oral/written communication skills in business English, demonstrated computer proficiency, and the ability to work independently. As required by business necessity, upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have clean background checks through the State Bureau of Investigation, Maine Department of Human Services, and/or the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
