Project Coordinator - Foster Grandparent Program

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years is currently seeking a full-time (40 hrs/wk; benefits eligible) Project Coordinator to work in Bangor. The Project Coordinator provides Foster Grandparent Program services in 14 counties. The Project Coordinator will work directly with senior volunteers and volunteer locations throughout Maine.

The Project Coordinator will recruit and orient senior volunteers to work with children, primarily in educational settings, across the 14 county service area; provide technical assistance, consultation and education to supervisors and volunteers; maintain relationships with volunteer locations; and collect data and maintain accurate records.

Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in social work, social services, health education, or related field, and/or at least three years of work experience working with seniors and volunteers; work experience with coalitions, task forces, and the community; computer proficiency; record keeping skills; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have reliable transportation. Out of state travel to national trainings may be required. As required by business necessity, upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have clean background checks through the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Sex Offender Public website and the Federal Bureau of Investigation/Fingerprints. Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website. Offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
