Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years, is seeking to fill the above full-time (40 hrs/wk; benefits eligible) position to be part of our low income weatherization team in our Bangor office.  Successful applicants will have a passion for helping building owners save energy, knowledge of key energy efficiency concepts, and have good building/construction knowledge.  This position inspects homes to test their efficiency, develops energy saving recommendations, and accurately documents all work.  Travel reimbursement provided for business travel throughout Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties. 

 

This position requires a high school diploma, with a minimum of two years experience in building trades and technology, excellent oral and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and reliable, insured transportation.  Preferred qualifications include a two year degree in the Building Trades, BPI certification or credentials focused on building energy efficiency.  Experience with diagnostic equipment, such as the blower door and infrared camera, is also preferred.  Penquis offers a competitive wage and benefits package, including experience based pay increases for producing audits while meeting our high standards.  Become part of our team to help Maine conserve energy.  Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
