Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years, has the following Site Manager opening in the Rockland area


35 hrs/42 wks and 24 hrs/10 wks(benefits eligible)


The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a multiple classroom child development facility and assuring successful communication between families, staff, administration, and community.  The Site Manager serves as a contact person for facility activities and oversees day-to-day site operations.  In addition, the Site Manager position carries direct service responsibilities as a Family Support Worker and will work directly with families around securing appropriate information and referral, and support of individualized service plan development.


Required qualifications include a CDA or Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related degree; two years of experience as a Teacher or Family Support Worker; previous experience working with families facing parenting challenges; working knowledge of area resources for low income individuals; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills.  Preferred qualifications include post secondary education in Social Work, Child Development, or related field, or a Licensed Social Worker. Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
