Project Coordinator - Client Services

Rape Response Services, a subsidiary of Penquis, with offices in Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft, seeks a dynamic individual to work as a part-time (32 hrs/wk; benefits eligible) Project Coordinator – Client Services based in Bangor with travel required throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.  The successful candidate will provide direct services to those affected by sexual violence and stalking with a focus on providing extensive outreach and support to underserved victims/survivors of sexual violence. Underserved populations are those who may experience greater barriers to accessing services such as individuals living in rural areas, members of the LGBT community and male survivors.  Outreach efforts will include building and maintaining relationships with other service providers and systems to create referral networks. The successful candidate will also help to provide training to professionals, prevention education programs and community awareness events throughout both counties.


Must have initiative and ability to work independently; must be willing to work flexible hours; be able to provide reliable, insured transportation; and be able to take required on call shifts, including nights and weekends. Upon hire and thereafter, must have background check results which are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.


Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and related experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field and at least one year of specifically related experience are preferred. Also required are a personal philosophy in keeping with the program’s goals and objectives and an understanding of clinical, legal and/or political issues related to sexual assault. Previous public speaking or teaching experience and knowledge of the local service area a plus.  Entry level salary range for this position is $14.99 per hour.
