Maine Community Action Partnership, a statewide organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Maine people by advocating for, promoting and supporting the work of the Maine community action agencies is currently seeking a part-time (20 hours/week; grant funded) COVID-19 Communications Assistant to work from their home and support the statewide COVID-19 vaccine communications effort.
The COVID-19 Communications Assistant will support the COVID-19 Vaccine Communications Manager and MeCAP Communications Team in creating and disseminating targeted messages to create an environment that promotes vaccine uptake. This position will have access to and use qualitative and quantitate data, interviews and focus groups to craft persuasive messages for use in social and traditional media content; messages will work with outreach staff to increase vaccine uptake, especially in targeted, low vaccine rate counties.
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma and at least five years of volunteer or work experience with the community, civic and faith-based organizations; computer proficiency; record keeping skills; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have a valid driver’s license with insured, reliable transportation. In state travel to trainings and meetings may be required. Internet and regular business equipment is required.
MeCap is supported through its fiscal agent, Penquis, and therefore, you will be hired as an employee of Penquis. This is a grant-funded position, and is anticipated to last until December 31, 2021.
The salary scale for the Communication Assistant is $16.17 to $21.02 per hour.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no other disqualifying background checks as outlined in current contract provisions.
