Part-time (20 hours/week; grant funded)
Maine Community Action Partnership, a statewide organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Maine people by advocating for, promoting and supporting the work of the Maine community action agencies is currently seeking a part-time (20 hours/week; grant funded) COVID-19 Vaccine Outreach Educators to work from their home in Somerset, Penobscot/Piscataquis, Waldo and York Counties. The successful candidates will live in one of these counties and have deep ties to its formal and informal networks.
The COVID-19 Vaccine Outreach Educators will conduct meetings with schools, civic and faith-based organizations to increase COVID-19 vaccine uptake; coordinate testing and vaccine clinics. They will work directly with the target population to create messages and social media content appropriate to the age group and its interests. Outreach also includes business, business leaders and other local influencers to create an environment that promotes vaccine uptake.
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or and/or at least five years of volunteer or work experience with the community, civic and faith-based organizations; computer proficiency; record keeping skills; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have reliable insured transportation. In state travel to trainings and within the county will be required. Internet and regular business equipment is required.
MeCap is supported through its fiscal agent, Penquis, and therefore, you will be hired as an employee of Penquis. This is a grant-funded position, and is anticipated to last until December 31, 2021. The salary scale for the Community Outreach Educator is $18.70 to $26.18 per hour.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no other disqualifying background checks as outlined in current contract provisions.
