Merry Gardens Assisted Living Facility

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has an opening for a Dietary Coordinator (36-40 hour a week/benefits eligible position) to provide meals in a caring, supportive, home-like environment at the Merry Gardens Assisted Living Facility.

Location: Camden, Maine

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of food service such as menu planning, preparing and serving meals, cleaning, maintaining inventory and purchasing supplies as well as assuring all regulations and requirements are met. In addition, the successful candidate will work to assure an enjoyable dining experience.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and three years of experience cooking for large groups, purchasing and inventory control; ability to use small and large kitchen equipment; ability to read, write and perform basic math functions; valid drivers license; reliable, insured transportation; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; must be at least 18 years of age.   Preferred qualifications include food safety and sanitation certificate; post-secondary culinary education.  

The starting rate of pay for the Dietary Coordinator is $15.78 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
