Salary Range: $35,859 – 55,578/year
The Financial Analyst leads the budgeting process and manages fiscal compliance within the agency. Penquis, a diverse social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox Counties for over 50 years is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/wk, 52 wks/yr; benefits eligible) Financial Analyst to work in its Central Accounting Office in Bangor to fill a vacancy in our growing agency. You assist the Chief Financial Officer in all functional areas and have primary responsibility for financial contract management and reporting within your department. You assist in monthly preparation of financial statements, monthly budget report analysis, IRS Form 990 preparation and annual audit assistance. You work closely with the fiscal staff and senior program staff to ensure that all contract budgets are accurate. You report to the departmental staff and the Chief Financial Officer on the progress of contract budgets vs. actual expenditures.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, show initiative, provide leadership, prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced diversified workplace. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, at least 5 years experience in a busy accounting office, and excellent computer skills, including experience in computer-based accounting applications, as well as spreadsheet and word processing programs. Typical hiring range is $35,859 to $55,578 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
