Family and Community Support Coordinator

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years, is recruiting for the above full-time (40 hrs/wk; benefits eligible) position based in Rockland within the Housing and Energy Services Department.

The successful applicant will work directly with Penquis’ Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program clients towards reducing the household’s energy dependency through assessing their needs, providing energy education, determining program eligibility and with client participation developing short and long term plans toward family and client well-being.  This position also works to develop and strengthen relationships with other providers to increase coordination of services and resources available to clients.

Position requires a Bachelor degree in Social work or related field, or five years successful experience working with individuals and families; a working knowledge of resources for low-income individuals; a valid driver’s license and insured, reliable transportation.  Licensed Social Workers and/or applicants with supervisory experience are given strong consideration. Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions. The salary range for this position is $17.38 – 24.34/hour.
