Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has full-time 38hr/wk opening for a Family Engagement Manager in the Child Development department, based in the Bangor area.

This position works in conjunction with the Child Development Director and a team of colleagues to assure that comprehensive services are delivered within the Child Care and Early Head Start/Head Start Programs. You oversee the provision of family services within Early Head Start and Head Start Programs, supervising family support staff, performing training and management functions, and are responsible for meeting all assigned contract requirements and standards. (Federal, State and Local). This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Family Services, and one year supervising staff in a related field as well as an understanding of family stressors with knowledge of community resources/supports. Working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and systems theory, domestic violence and substance abuse are preferred. This is a salary position starting at $41,581; with considerations for education and experience.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
