Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is seeking 4 Full-time (40 hours/week; benefits eligible) Family Visitor positions. Come be part of a progressive and innovative team within its Maine Families Home Visiting Program, with a flexible work schedule either in the office or with a hybrid work model.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Maine Families is grounded in a prevention approach, understanding the importance of building trusting relationships with families in order to support them in raising children birth to three years old. Through regularly scheduled visits, Maine Families Family Visitors use an evidenced-based model to promote positive parent-child interactions, build parenting skills, and knowledge around child development. Maine Families makes a difference for the whole family!

Requirements include bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work or related field and one-year paid experience working with young children, birth to 6 years old. Other Preferred Qualifications: Experience in home visitation, knowledge of infant and child development, experience providing case management, the ability to work well independently, strong organizational, skills and time management computer, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to support diversity equity and inclusion for the families we serve. Must have a valid Maine Driver’s License and daily use of a vehicle insured to State requirements. The Maine Families Home Visiting Program offers a comprehensive on boarding process and annual training opportunities. Family Visitors have the flexibility to work independently as well as with a team. Maine Families provides the opportunity to become a certified Lactation Counselor.

The starting rate of pay for the position is $19.55 per hour and additional compensation will be given consideration with relevant experience. Sign on incentive of $1400 Available– $400 payable after successful completion of 2 months, $1000 payable after successful completion of 6 months.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
