Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years is currently seeking a temporary, full-time (40 hours/week; non-benefits eligible) Grant Writing Assistant within our Corporate Services team in Bangor (position to work remotely).    

Location: Bangor, Maine

As a Grant Writing Assistant, you will work with development and program operations staff to create fundraising proposals, project summaries and impact reports, stewardship communications, press releases and other written collateral in support of the organization’s fundraising efforts. As part of the Resource Development team, you will also support the planning and implementation of community fundraising campaigns and community relations activities.  

Requirements include an associate degree in English, communications, journalism, creative writing, or related field, 2-3 years of demonstrated writing experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong research skills, computer proficiency, and ability to meet deadlines.

The starting rate of pay for the Grant Writer Assistant position is $17.81 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
