Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is seeking a Health Services Coordinator to work 32 hours/week with a schedule alternating between M-Th and Tues-Fri. (part-time day position; benefits eligible). This position provides coordination and oversight of medication administration programs and health related issues at Penquis Assisted Living Facilities located in Bangor and Camden. Weekly travel between the two locations is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the medication administration program; provision of staff education and training; admission and discharge planning; quality assurance and risk management; review of resident service plans and community service coordination. The successful candidate will work in a team approach to assure quality services for seniors in a caring and supportive community environment.

Required qualifications include active Registered Nurse License; minimum of four years of experience working directly with older persons in long term care, assisted living residential setting or in home setting; experience administering medications; experience teaching or providing training; excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; proficient computer skills; a valid driver’s license; and reliable, insured transportation. Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
