Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week; benefit eligible) Housing Coordinator. As the Housing Coordinator you assist in overseeing the daily operations to ensure eligible clients are served and undertake the activities necessary to meet the conditions, applicable regulations and funding source requirements of grants and contracts for these programs. This position is based out of the Bangor office.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Housing Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Assess client eligibility and determine services needed.
  • Work in concert with the Department Management, a team of colleagues and partner organizations to support individuals and families receiving housing services.
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations to ensure eligible clients are served and undertake the activities necessary to meet the conditions, applicable regulations and funding source requirements of grants and contracts for these programs.
  • You coordinate the services to maximize the outcomes with the least number of visits to the home.

Housing Coordinator Requirements:

  • Associates degree in the social service or business field with 2 years’ work experience in an office setting where client contact was a responsibility or 5 years work experience in lieu of education.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work independently and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Must have a valid Maine Driver’s License and use of a reliable vehicle insured to State requirements. Travel may be required throughout our three-county service area.
  • Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results.

The starting pay for this position is $ 19.74 per hour.  Penquis offers paid training, mileage reimbursement and an excellent benefits package.
