Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox counties for over 50 years, is seeking a full-time (40 hour/week) Office Coordinator at its Bangor location.

The Office Coordinator will provide administrative support, office coordination and scheduling for both the Information Technology and Facilities departments.  This position requires someone who is able to juggle multiple priorities to support these two fast paced, high volume, and customer service focused departments within a geographically large and program diverse community service organization.   

This position offers an opportunity for daily variety and growth for a person with excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent multi-tasking capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills; be versatile in computer systems and applications such as Microsoft Office products, Excel and databases; work well in a team environment; and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.

Required qualifications include Associates Degree in secretarial science, business or other related area and two years of related work experience, or High School diploma or equivalent and four years of related work experience. Must have at least three years of work experience in an office setting. Previous experience as an office manager is preferred. A valid Maine driver’s license and reliable transportation is required for occasional travel related to these duties.  The starting rate of pay for this position is $14.15 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and as outlined in current contract provision to include but not limited to; the State Bureau of Investigation, Maine Department of Human Services, Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles and System for Award Management (SAM) website.
