Help Develop New Properties and Manage Existing Rental Units

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, and MaineStream Finance (MSF), a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), a subsidiary of Penquis, are seeking to hire a highly motivated experience office administrator who is looking to make a tangible difference in our community, particularly for low-income families.

This full time (40 hour per week) position is currently a hybrid position with two days working at our corporate offices and the remaining days remote.

Located: Bangor, Maine

The Portfolio and Loan Administrator, will assist both MaineStream Finance and Penquis’ Housing Development Teams. The ideal candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple projects and deliverables while being detailed oriented and organized.

The Portfolio and Loan Administrator will assist with the development of new properties and help to oversee  nearly 400 units of affordable rental properties. Duties will include managing documents, data, and correspondence including those related to loan applications, funding applications, and monitoring the performance of loans, borrowers, and Penquis’ rental portfolio.  Responsibilities include the accuracy of loan information within the organization’s data management systems and  and loan portfolio performance.   Participates in department development, improving operational efficiencies and assist  internal and external reporting activities.  This position also facilitates the development of the department’s future vision, strategies and resources with team members. 

Requires two years of experience as an office coordinator or similar position.   Preferred experience  in the financial, legal, or real estate industries or related paid work experience and/or education; attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical, logical and problem solving skills; experience in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ability to communicate effectively and efficiently verbally and written.

The starting rate of pay for the Portfolio and Loan Administrator position is $17.81 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. 

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with MSF/Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
