Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years is looking to hire a dynamic, energetic and motivated individual as a full-time Professional Development Coordinator.  This position is currently remote and in-person when teaching classes, primarily at our Dover-Foxcroft and Bangor, Maine offices.

As the Professional Development Coordinator, you are part of the Human Resources/Training team and work collaboratively with all Penquis departments.  You will coordinate, teach and support employee training and development while creating an engaging and meaningful learning environment. 

Requirements include an Associate Degree in human services or related field and 3-5 years of related experience, including at least two years of documented experience teaching adult learners.  Five years of experience may be substituted for degree.  Experience working as a Direct Support Professional or MHRT-1 is preferred.  Must become qualified instructor of CDS curriculum, CPR, First Aide and MANDT within 12 months of hire.  The successful candidate must have excellent organization, presentation and communication skills and proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint programs.  Must have valid State of Maine driver’s license in good standing with reliable transportation.

The starting rate of pay for the Professional Development Coordinator is $19.84 per hour and additional compensation may be considered for commensurate experience and qualifications.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
