Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has an opening for a full-time, 40 hours/week; 52 weeks/year (benefit eligible) Program Coordinator in the Bangor area.

The Program Coordinator willsupervise Direct Care Professionals and work with the Program Manager to ensure the highest standards are met while overseeing day to day operations of their assigned programs to include hiring, training, managing performance, providing supervision and a safe work environment.  This position ensures compliance with all contracts, licensing and Maine Care regulation requirements including all DHHS safety, training and programmatic standards; and is responsible for the reporting and maintenance of client information.  The Program Coordinator will attend client meetings to contribute information needed to provide quality treatment, as well as act as a liaison between team members. This position will perform direct care responsibilities and will deliver the best possible service to individuals supported in the programs.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent and preferably one year of experience in the role as a direct care professional or experience working with adults with disabilities. Must have completed all of the following trainings/certifications or have the ability to complete: direct support professional (DSP) certification, CPR/First Aid, Medication Certification (CRMA), MANDT and MHRT/C preferred.  Must be proficient with using a computer with MS Word, Excel, electronic medical records system, e-mail and internet. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated personal qualities of maturity and discretion. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner with attention to detail and ability to follow through with assigned deadlines. 

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.  Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours based on program needs.
