Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has the following Program Coordinator opening in the Dover-Foxcroft area:

40 hrs/wk; 52 wks/year (benefits eligible)

The program coordinator will supervise direct care professionals and act as a liaison between the staff and the Program Manager, overseeing day to day operations of assigned programs to include hiring, training, evaluating and managing performance, providing supervision and safety according to agency policies and procedures while working closely with the Program Manager to ensure the highest standards are met.  The Program coordinator will also fulfill direct care responsibilities in accordance with direct care professional job description as needed and will deliver the best possible service to individuals the program support.    The program coordinator will schedule and lead monthly staff meetings, ensure compliance with all contracts, licensing and Maine Care regulation requirements including all DHHS safety, training and programmatic standards.  Will be responsible for required reports including but not limited to monthly fire drills, safety checklist, monthly progress notes, medication administration record and agency related paperwork are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.  Will maintain client charts to include reviewing and approving notes to confirm that they are up to date using the agencies electronic medical record system as well as files and documentation in electronic medical records system meeting quality assurance requirements for the agency. The program coordinator will attend client meetings to contribute information needed to provide quality treatment as well as act as liaison between residential care providers, family and staff to coordinate medical appointments, communicate behaviors, medication changes and any other issues for the clients that is relevant to their care.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent and preferably one year of experience in the role as a direct care professional or experience working with adults with disabilities.  Must have completed or be able to complete all of the following trainings/certifications: direct support professional (DSP) certification, CPR/First aid, Medication Certification (CRMA), MANDT and all other required agency trainings.  Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, electronic medical records system, e-mail and internet. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated personal qualities of maturity and discretion. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner with attention to detail and ability to follow through with assigned duties.
