Penquis, a social service agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has an opening within the Charlotte White Support Services division for a full-time

(40 hours/week, benefit eligible) Program Manager.  The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of six residential programs, supporting 18 adults with acquired brain injuries and intellectual disabilities in Penobscot and Piscataquis County.  In addition, this position will provide leadership, guidance and support to three Program Coordinators and over fifty direct care workers. The Program Manager will be responsible for operating each program within budget guidelines and participating in an on call rotation.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in health, social work, or related field with two years paid work experience, which includes direct service and staff supervision, or associate degree in health, social work, or related field with five years paid work experience which includes direct service and staff supervision, or other experience as deemed appropriate by the Chief Executive Officer. 

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.  Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours based on program needs.
