Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours per week; benefits eligible) Project Coordinator in the Breakthrough Youth Program. As the Project Coordinator you will provide important life skills to support better financial literacy and healthy decision making to create pathways to future success. This position is primarily remote when doing office days, but does require significant travel throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.
Location: Dover Foxcroft, Maine
Project Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Implementing the program’s curriculum including skills related to saving and spending money appropriately, a safer sex approach to decrease risks for teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, social/emotional learning, and skills to reduce the use of alcohol and substances.
- Coordinate and provide direct implementation of youth programs, which may include: deliver direct services in individual or group settings, as required; network with parents and adult community members; provide skill building and life-skills training to participants; coordinate and facilitate youth engagement groups and adult advisors.
- Participate in training and meetings, as assigned.
- Conduct outreach within the community to recruit program participants and raise awareness of our programs.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare required reports. Enter data into EmpowOr as required.
- Comply with all program and contract requirements including tracking and measuring of outcomes.
- Conduct workshops and presentations, as assigned.
Project Coordinator Requirements:
- High School Diploma, and 2-3 years of experience volunteering and/or working with and for young people, specifically in the areas of self-advocacy, youth development, youth leadership or direct social services.
- Experience working with teens or at-risk youth; and experience with family systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Reliable, insured transportation.
- Computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills demonstrated by work within the community which included facilitation and training.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The starting rate of pay for the Project Coordinator position is $19.74 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
