Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is recruiting for a 40 hour per week (benefit eligible) Project Coordinator for Heating Systems as part of our Housing and Energy Department, based out of our Bangor office. 

TheProject Coordinator is responsible for managing the Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox Counties Central Heating Improvement Program (CHIP) and Above Ground Storage Programs.  This position requires specific knowledge of heating systems.  Project Coordinator oversees daily operations to ensure that eligible clients are served and undertakes the activities necessary to meet the conditions, applicable regulations and funding source requirements of grants and contracts for these programs.  The person will assist the Division Manager in coordinating Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox County Weatherization programs for a seamless service to eligible clients and contract management for funding sources.

This position requires a high school diploma, a minimum of five years of experience in building trades and technology, a strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills, computer proficiency and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Preference will be given to candidates with an Associate’s Degree in HVAC or related field; a minimum heating journeyman’s license, previous experience with building/home performance inspections, technical specifications and building codes. Must have a valid Maine Driver’s License and use of a reliable vehicle insured to State requirements.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.

Penquis offers an excellent benefits package which includes 12 paid holidays and vacation time. The pay range for this position starts at $17.55 per hour, depending on experience.
