Penquis, a trusted social services organization with over 50 years of service across Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties, is seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator – Home Repair to join our growing team and contribute to the successful implementation of home repair projects.
As the Project Coordinator, you will oversee home repair and replacement projects, conduct home inspections, prepare technical specifications, and manage various construction activities. In this role, you will also maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and offering educational support throughout the process. This is a full-time position (40hrs.) located out of our Bangor office.
Location: Bangor, Maine
Project Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive, Emergency/WSD based, whole house inspections and design a work plan to address all deficiencies and health/safety issues.
- Write comprehensive technical specifications to address structural, electrical, plumbing, heating, energy conservation, access, and finish issues on a variety of residential structures and mobile homes.
- Prepare project documents based on the funding requirements which will include environmental reviews and state historical preservation reviews.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of a wide range of home repair and replacement construction projects.
- The Project Coordinator will work with other staff to coordinate additional services such as weatherization, heating repair/replacement and lead inspections for a whole house approach.
Project Coordinator Requirements:
- Associates degree and 2-3 years previous work experience in repair and construction of residential structures.
- Ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $20.43 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
