Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox counties for over 50 years, has the following opening in Rockland, Maine for the position of Regional Programs Director.

The Regional Programs Director will recognize the unique characteristics and culture of the Midcoast/Knox County region, serve as a liaison between Penquis, community leaders and citizens. The Director will participate in community affairs to increase the visibility of Penquis and enhance its service delivery in the region. The position is chief administrator of the Community Investors (CI) project, is responsible for all project initiatives, and working collaboratively with community partners. Collaborate with Penquis Community Relations department to coordinate public relations in the assigned region. The Director provides staff support and leadership to the Knox County Steering Committee (CSC) and is the lead corporate staff person in the region.

Required education and 3-5 years of experience in human services or related area; Bachelor’s degree preferred; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to conduct oneself with poise and professionalism; proven leadership experience; access to reliable vehicle for reimbursed business travel.

The starting annual salary for position is $53,845 additional compensation may be considered for commensurate experience and qualifications.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
