Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours per week; benefits eligible) Resident Services Coordinator in our Housing Development Department. As the Resident Services Coordinator, you are working directly with affordable housing locations and management agents to provide service coordination and referral resources to tenants. This is a hybrid position in our Bangor office.
Location: Bangor, Maine
Resident Services Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on supportive management presence at properties without supervisory or Lease Enforcement responsibilities.
- Inform residents of the position’s purpose and available services via regular written, telephone, and in-person communication.
- Provide intake and assessment of all individual households to determine household needs and potential community resources benefits and provide appropriate referrals and service advocacy
- Establish professional relationships with clients; provide services to clients in a compassionate and friendly manner; provide guidance which encourages residents to make choices that are in the best interest for their tenancy and selves.
- Advocate for residents as a liaison between fellow residents, management staff, community agencies, and providers as required and serve as a referral resource clearing house for residents and fellow staff members. Develop and maintain a structured, computerized, and printed list of referral resources at each property.
Resident Services Coordinator Requirements:
- High School Diploma, and 3-5 years successful experience working with individuals and families.
- Working knowledge of areas resources for low-income individuals.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The pay rate for this position starts at $20.95 per hour, and additional compensation may be considered with relevant experience. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
