Work with Residents of Our Affordable Rental Communities
Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours/week; benefits eligible) Resident Service Coordinator to fill an upcoming vacancy within our Housing Development team in Bangor, Maine. Currently, this position will be working remotely in accordance with Penquis pandemic policy. Regular reimbursed travel throughout the service area is required when in person service delivery resumes.
The Resident Services Coordinator works with older adults and families at our affordable rental communities through the eastern Maine region. This position will work to ensure residents have access to the services they need in order to maintain their tenancy and to be able to thrive in their home. The primary responsibilities are to serve as a referral resource for a myriad of needs and challenges facing low income individuals; coordinate activities within the community; be an advocate for residents; and create and maintain strong community ties with area resource providers. In addition, this position works closely with our third-party property management company and other Penquis staff.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field or five years successful experience working with individuals and families. The successful applicant must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, be a self-starter and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The starting rate of pay for the Resident Services Coordinator position is $19.84 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
