Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a Full time (40hrs/52wks per year) Residential Services Director. Responsible for the successful operation of a quality assisted living program.
Location: Bangor, Maine
Residential Services Director Responsibilities:
- Explain assisted living programs, service costs, and available services and limitations with potential and current consumers and families.
- Assist in the hiring, orientation, supervision and evaluation of qualified staff.
- Advise potential and current consumers and families on financial eligibility for services.
- Determine resident service needs using the functional assessment tool as required.
- Advocate for residents as needed to ensure needs are met and personal safety is maintained.
- In coordination with the Health Services Coordinator, provide oversight of medication administration program; communicate with community providers, physicians and pharmacies as needed to assure safe medication administration.
- Make referrals for services, set up appointments and assist residents in accessing community services/resources as needed and appropriate.
Residential Services Director Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Development, Gerontology, Nursing or other directly Related fields required, and 2-3 years’ experience working directly with older persons in long term care community or residential programs preferred. One year of supervisory experience.
- Experienced providing personal care and housekeeping services, preferably to elderly.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written and organizational skills required.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The salary range for this position is $ 56,840-85,260 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
