Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has the following opening for a Site Manager in our Child Development department, based in the Rockland area.

40 hrs/wk (benefits eligible)

The Site Manager is a supervisory position that is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a multi-classroom, child development facility and assuring successful communication between families, staff, administration. The Site Manager acts as a direct contact for state licensing, performing routine safety checks of all areas of the site including, playground, building and performs routine fire drills.

Required qualifications are an Associate Degree in Early Childhood, Social Work, family services or related field with minimum of two years of experience as a Teacher or Family Support Worker. Candidate should have previous experience working with families facing parenting challenges; working knowledge of area resources for low-income individuals; excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in ECE, Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field. This position is benefit eligible and starts at $17.81 per hour, additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions.
