Possible Remote Work for the Right Candidate

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox counties for over 50 years, has an opening for the position of Systems Administrator. After an initial onsite work period, a hybrid work/remote schedule could be developed.

Located: Bangor, Maine

As a System Administrator you will be expected to install, maintain and support computer software and hardware, including tablets, smartphones, VOIP phones, and peripherals running on local and wide area networks. Must be able to implement new software and releases for supported systems.  Troubleshoot problems reported by users/customers and provide courteous technical assistance, support, and advice to customers and users.  Maintain Microsoft Active Directory user and computer information, including adding, changing, deleting and managing user data and access rights.  Train users on new applications and upgrades as they are installed.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in computer science, or related area, or equivalent education and 3-5 years of experience.  Professional relevant certifications (CCNA, MCSE, etc).  Excellent technical, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization.  Must have valid State of Maine driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle for reimbursed business travel.

The salary for this position is: $44,500 – $66,750 based on experience and qualifications.

Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
