Preschool Students
Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has three (3) openings for a Preschool Teacher in our Greater Bangor/Brewer area. All positions are regular full time and benefits eligible. One position is a full 40 hours/52 weeks per year. The other two positions have classroom hours of 8:00-2:00 Monday-Friday with summers off.
Location: Bangor, Maine
Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continued educational opportunities. This position is responsible for preschool age children (3-5 years old) in a Head Start setting, following an evidence-based curriculum, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, including individual prescriptive programs for children with special needs. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with 36 credit hours in ECE and two years paid experience in a childcare setting. (Appropriate practicum experience may be substituted for two years paid experience in an early education/childcare setting). Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education preferred.
The starting rate for the Teacher position is $19.55 per hour and additional compensation will be given consideration with relevant experience. Eligible upon hire, new employees in our Early Child Care programs who work 24-40 hours per week, will receive a $200 monthly incentive.
