Job Overview

Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time Energy Auditor. As an Energy Auditor, you’ll help homeowners create safer, healthier, and more energy-efficient homes. You’ll conduct detailed energy assessments, identify areas for improvement, and recommend needed repairs and upgrades—all while following industry standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete energy audits which include complete testing of combustion appliances and heating systems. Collect all energy usage data for input into approved energy modeling software.
• You have knowledge of key energy efficient concepts or are able to learn these technologies.
• Complete accurate energy audit reports.
• Offer training and technical assistance to clients and contractors during work progress.
• You communicate with the client throughout the process, providing education, background information and updates.
• Manage multiple contractors and projects concurrently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, 2-3 years related work experience in related field.
• BPI Building Analyst - Professional certification within 6 months of employment.
• Must have valid Maine driver’s license and ability to provide adequate insured transportation.
• Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
