Eastern Maine CA$H is a coalition of nonprofit and for-profit partners working to help individuals and families pursue long-term financial stability through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Eastern Maine CA$H serves Penobscot, Hancock, Piscataquis, Washington, and Waldo counties.

Volunteer opportunities

• IRS Certified Virtual Volunteer Tax Preparer: Prepare qualifying tax returns online for eligible individuals and families.
• Intake/Interviewer Volunteer: Conduct client intake, review and upload tax documents, and assist clients with required forms when necessary.
• Opportunity Guide Volunteer: Speak with clients virtually, by phone, or in person about community resources that may help address financial concerns and goals.

Training is provided for volunteers.
