Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours/week; benefits eligible) Resident Services Coordinator working directly with affordable housing locations and the management agents to provide service coordination and referral resources to tenants. This is a hybrid position based out of the Bangor office.
Location: Bangor, Maine
Resident Services Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on supportive management.
- Inform residents of available services via regular written, telephone, and in-person communication. Develop and maintain a structured, computerized and printed list of referral resources at each property.
- Provide intake and assessment of individual households to determine needs and potential community resources benefits and provide appropriate referrals and service advocacy
- Establish professional relationships with clients; provide services to clients in a compassionate and friendly manner; provide guidance which encourages residents to make choices that are in the best interest for their tenancy and selves.
- Advocate for residents as a liaison between fellow residents, management staff, community agencies, and providers as required and serve as a referral resource clearing house for residents.
Resident Services Coordinator Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, and 3-5 years successful experience working with individuals and families.
- Working knowledge of areas resources for low income individuals.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $20.95 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
