Penquis, a trusted social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is seeking a full-time Scheduler to join our Family Visit Program. As the Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling all family visits within the Family Visit Program.

The Family Visit Program provides a safe and supportive environment for family visits, builds on the strengths of individual family members, and offers resources and tools to enhance parenting skills and encourage positive parent-child interactions.

This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30) located at our Bangor location.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Scheduler Responsibilities:

  • Promptly schedule all family visits as part of the Family Visit Program, according to appropriate guidelines.
  • Be the point of contact for the Family Visitation Program, disseminating routine information and helping families, program staff and all others that require communication.
  • Provide excellent service to all customers, including the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and visiting families, and work in unison with the Visit Support Workers.
  • Provide information and updates to Visit Support Supervisors and Visit Support Workers on a timely basis based upon the guidelines set forth by DHHS.
  • Provide direct family support as needed including supervising visits and transporting children to and from visits as well as all other related activities, as required, to assure program/department success.

Scheduler Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years of work experience in an office setting that includes word processing, spread sheets, and database management.
  • At least six months of previously documented experience working with children and families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing administrative support in an office setting.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable, insured transportation and have proof of automobile insurance.
  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $17.66 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
