Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has the following Toddler Assistant Teacher opening at our Rockland High St location in Rockland.
40 hours/week; 52 weeks/year (benefits eligible including 14 paid holidays)
Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continued educational opportunities. This position is responsible for toddlers (ages 18 months to three years) in a child care setting, developing and administering developmentally appropriate activities, including individual prescriptive programs for children with special needs. This position requires a minimum of an Infant/Toddler CDA. Preferred qualifications will be an associate degree in early childhood education with a focus on Infant/Toddler and at least one year paid experience in working with Infants/Toddlers. (Appropriate practicum experience may be substituted for two years paid experience in an early education/child care setting).
The starting rate of pay for the Assistant Teacher position is $17.07/hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Eligible upon hire, new employees in our Early Child Care programs who work 24-40 hours per week, will receive a $200 monthly incentive.
