If you enjoy working with children and young adults, this is an excellent opportunity. As a BHP, you’ll provide direct support by teaching essential life skills through interactive, hands-on activities and consistent community-based outings. In this role, you’ll empower clients to build confidence and achieve greater independence in their everyday lives.
Schedule: Up to 20 part-time hours per week, primarily during afternoon and early evening hours.
Location: Fairfield, Maine
This position is ideal for those with flexible schedules, including college students, teachers, ed techs, and retirees.
We are looking for BHPs in the following locations: Skowhegan, Madison, Anson, Waterville, Oakfield, Plymouth, & Fairfield areas.
BHP Responsibilities:
- Playing board or card games to teach directions or to appropriately handle the emotions that come from not winning.
- Watching video clips to practice non-verbal cues.
- Going to the playground to teach safety skills or how to initiate and maintain positive friendships.
- Going to a store to teach money skills or independent interactions with store personnel.
- Choosing and following a recipe to practice meal planning and cooking skills.
- Helping with big emotions, learn how to self-soothe, or ask for help.
BHP Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have valid Maine driver’s license in good standing with reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
- Must have access to a cell phone or smart phone.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The current pay range for the Behavioral Health Professional position is $17.33-$22.53 per hour.
