Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has an opening for a Toddler (18 months to 3 yrs of age) Center Aide at our Eastern Maine Community College location.
40 hrs/wk, 52 wks\ yr (benefits eligible including 14 holidays)
Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continued educational opportunities. This position assists with greeting children, getting them settled into the facility, assisting with playground supervision and activities, and other daily activities related to the operation of the classroom, including light cleaning duties. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a Infant/Toddler CDA upon hire, basic reading, writing and math skills, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. If you do not have the required qualifications, Penquis Child Development can support newly hired staff in a professional development plan to acquire the appropriate credentials. Training in childcare or social welfare and previous paid experience working with children are preferred.
The starting salary for the Center Aide is $16.10 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Eligible upon hire, new employees in our Early Child Care programs who work 24-40 hours per week, will receive a $200 monthly incentive.
