Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has an opening for a Full time (38 hours per week; 42 weeks per year) (benefits eligible) Center Aide to work in a public school PreK/Head Start collaborative setting based in the Brewer.
Location: Brewer, Maine
Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continued educational opportunities. This position assists with greeting children, getting them settled into the facility, assisting with classroom and playground supervision, and other daily activities related to the operation of the classroom, including light cleaning duties. Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, ME DOE Ed Tech I certification, basic reading, writing and math skills, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. An associate degree in early childhood education or CDA in Preschool and paid experience working with children are preferred.
The starting rate of pay for the Center Aide is $16.10 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Eligible upon hire, new employees in our Early Child Care programs who work 24-40 hours per week, will receive a $200 monthly incentive.
