COVID Reponse Team – Flexible Hours
Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years, is recruiting for the above part-time (30 hrs/wk; benefits eligible) position based in Bangor within Family Enrichment Services. Currently, this a remote position in accordance with the agency’s temporary COVID-19 safety guidelines. Position will begin immediately and continue through December 2021, with the possibility of extending into 2022. Hours are flexible based on need with a standing 8:30am meeting daily.
The successful applicant will work directly via phone with families and individuals impacted by COVID-19 to assess their needs, determine program eligibility, and provide appropriate resources, information, and referrals. This position also works as part of a COVID Response Team to address both individual needs, as well as community needs. This position will also be responsible for conducting outreach and education within Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties that aligns with current CDC guidelines and practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Position requires a degree in Social work or related field, OR three to five years successful experience working with individuals and families; a working knowledge of resources for low-income individuals; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a valid driver’s license and insured, reliable transportation. You must be able to interact with the public in a professional manner and maintain client information in complete confidence. Licensed Social Workers and/or applicants with supervisory experience are given strong consideration.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no other disqualifying background checks as outlined in current contract provisions.
The rate of pay for this position starts at $19.26 per hour.
