Penquis, a leading social services agency with over 50 years of community impact across Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties, is seeking a Program Manager for the McAuley Residence.

A collaborative initiative between Northern Light Mercy Hospital and Penquis, McAuley Residence provides a comprehensive, supportive environment for women in early recovery and their children. As Program Manager, you will oversee daily operations and empower residents to build on their strengths as they transition toward self-sufficiency. This role is pivotal in establishing individual goal plans, ensuring accountability, and tracking outcomes that change lives.

This is a full-time, exempt position based in the Bangor area. While standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, flexibility is required for occasional evenings and weekends to meet program needs.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Program Manager Responsibilities:

  • Represent McAuley Residence in the community.
  • Facilitate resident meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Receive resident referrals and conduct established application processes and resident orientation.
  • Link residents to agencies or providers to access necessary resources, including but not limited to: healthcare,  education, vocational or career counseling, employment, volunteering, financial management, legal advice, housing, healthy lifestyle, parenting skills, and childcare needs.
  • Handle and protect highly confidential patient, employee, and Northern Light Mercy proprietary information in accordance with hospital and system policies, HIPAA requirements, and the highest level of ethical standards.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with all Northern Light Mercy Health Systems and Penquis constituencies.

Program Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Social Work, or related field, and 5-7 years of paid work experience which includes direct service and staff supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and training.
  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The salary range for this position starts at $60,005 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
