Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, seeks a Part-Time Cook at the Freeses Assisted Living Facility located in Bangor. The position is 30 hours/week (benefits eligible), 8:00 am – 6:30 pm Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Successful candidate will work to prepare healthy, nutritious meals and will assist with clean up of the dining and kitchen areas. In addition, successful candidate will work as part of a team to serve meals to residents in the dining area of the facility in a manner that assures an enjoyable dining experience.
Required Qualifications include a High school diploma or equivalent, and three years paid experience working in a kitchen; ability to use small and large kitchen equipment; ability to read, write and perform basic math functions; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; must be at least 18 years of age. The rate of pay for this position starts at $15.25 per hour.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must have background check results that are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no other disqualifying background as outlined in current contract provisions.
