Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has the following PreK Teacher opening at our RSU #68/Penquis PreK location in the Dover area.
40 hrs/wk; 42 wks/year (benefits eligible including 14 holidays)
Location: Dover Foxcroft, Maine
Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continued educational opportunities. This position is responsible for children in a public school PreK/Head Start collaborative setting, implementing an evidence-based preschool curriculum and administering developmentally appropriate activities, including individual prescriptive programs for children with special needs. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (or related field with 36 credit hours in ECE); two years paid experience in a child care setting (appropriate practicum experience may be substituted for two years paid experience in an early education/child care setting) and ME DOE “081” teacher certification.
The starting rate of pay for the Teacher position is $19.55 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Eligible upon hire, new employees in our Early Child Care programs who work 24-40 hours per week, will receive a $200 monthly incentive.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
